I'm a North Carolinian! Wait.. what???

Hello, strangers! Yes, you read that right. I am now a North Carolinian. For those who don't know me (or who don't remember since it's been so long!), I was in South Carolina when we last met here. My life has changed a lot since then.

First of all, shortly before I became a total blogging slacker and stopped posting, I got my degree. Well, our company was also purchased by an international company which ended up working out well for me. I got a promotion and moved to Greenville, North Carolina.

I have to say, it was a big change as I didn't know a soul in this town before packing up me and Bailey... Remember her? She's the pretty, furry girl you see all over my blog. Anyway, after almost 6 weeks of living in a hotel, I closed on this little gem...
We now have a home all our own with no crappy landlords to answer to anymore! (My former landlord didn't give me a cent of my deposit back, by the way... Shocker! And I busted my tail cleaning that place from top to bottom.... BUT.. Moving on... ) We have a new town, a new job, a new home in a new state, and a new life. It's quite a bit of newness, huh? Well, we are loving every minute of it! I'm sure you'll be sick of hearing all about it over the next few weeks while I catch you up.Unfortunately, most of the pictures I have are of the house before I moved into it, but I'll fix that soon. I have just been reluctant to take pictures of the place so far because I don't have it the way I want it yet.

For instance, let me demonstrate some of the wonderful things the former morons owners had done with the place....
There are many things wrong with this photo, some of which you can't even see. Now this ginormous hole over the fireplace is meant to house your TV. The people who used to live here had a TV much bigger than the one you see pictured, and it was in the bedroom. Why, you may ask? Because the HOLE was built for a tube-sized TV, and the house was only built SIX years ago! So, his biggest TV didn't fit in the hole, just as mine doesn't.

My father came up with the brilliant thought of, "Just buy a smaller TV." Yeah right, Pop! Like he has EVER done that in his lifetime, and neither will I. After many talks with several contractors, I have given up on the "HOLE" to house my TV. You'll see how I have it set up when I take updated photos. I have gotten together with a lady at the pottery down the road to make me a magnificent flower arrangement to fill "the HOLE." I can't wait to see it on Tuesday... And it better be just that... Magnificent!

Let me also bring your attention to the fact that this "HOLE" is over a fireplace in the photo. Can you see the fireplace??? Of course you can't! Because the morons former owners put their sound system in front of it! Yes, we even had to make it a condition of closing that he have the fireplace tested to make sure it works (it's a gas fireplace) because the home inspector couldn't get to it.

After much drama, I managed to close on the house while still paying to air condition the entire neighborhood.... in August... in North Carolina... while they took their sweet ass time moving out of my new home with the doors wide open for two days! Bailey is now loving her new yard which has a wonderful fence (which she's never had before) so she can't escape can run and play freely while I enjoy my beautiful deck and the occasional cocktail or 2... or 3... or... What the hell?! It's MY house! :-)

This is kind of my view....
Though the grass is better now... That pitiful plant is gone.. And that was the moron's former owner's grill. I would show you the other side of the yard, but it had a horrific swing set in the photos that is no longer here. Yes, the brain child didn't think he needed to remove that. Who was going to use it? Bailey??? The guy I hired to mow my lawn the first time got that as a punishment bonus for his hard work! That was before I got a lawn mower. Hey, cut me some slack. Do you know how long it had been since I mowed the lawn???

Stay tuned to hear some funny tails of my new home and how we are coping. By the way, anyone know how to get a video off your phone to post it here? I have a HILARIOUS one of Bailey playing with her new best friends... the frogs!

I hope to catch up with all of those who were nice enough to stick around after all this time and those I haven't met yet. I'll get back in the swing of this things before you know it! In the mean time... Cheers, my Zodiac Zoo Crew! I've missed you all!
