Friday Foolishness and boy do I need it!
Friday Foolishness is my day to just write about random things that have happened in my life or things that have crossed my path to hopefully brighten up the end of most of your work weeks. Since I'm sure many of you read that this has been a long week, I need to be able to laugh off some of the things I encountered.
First of all I planted some flowers in front of the house at the beginning of the week. This is how they look now...
They were so pretty before, too! They looked like little daisies. *sigh* It took me enough time to sweat out about 2 gallons of body fluid to plant those suckers along with some others, and they are DEAD. I specifically bought them because they like full sun. Well, apparently they don't. Or they don't like South Carolina sun. Or the person who wrote the instructions on the care of these plants just wanted people to have to go buy more pretty damn quick.
However, my new dog is cute though, right?
I love him! I got him on a recent trip to Pittsburgh where we have to stop at every Cracker Barrel possible according to my parents. Well, not EVERY one, but that's what they are looking for when it's time to eat, by God. Sure, make me spend more money on an already expensive trip because I can't walk through their store without finding something I have to have! I got some adorable stuff for the kitchen, too. And some other stuff.. Like I said, I can't leave that damn place without buying something, and we stopped at 2 of them on the trip.
The other night I was watching TV when I heard this loud SNAP and a crashing sound. Bailey was sound asleep and jumped to her feet, and several neighbors and I had to run outside to see what the hell was up. Now there was no breeze blowing (because you know Mother Nature is trying to suffocate us to death with this summer heat) and no storm pending or anything. But a neighbor's tree just snapped and fell on another neighbor's fence. Needless to say, the tree won that battle since this is what the fence looked like afterwards.
So before I was able to get this shot of the fence, the tree had to be removed, right? Well, apparently the best time to do that is at SEVEN A.M. in the freaking morning! I woke up to this scene yesterday.
Please explain to me why this LOUD job needed to be done so early in the damn morning! Granted, I was in the process of enjoying the snooze option of my alarms, but STILL! They got some pretty dirty looks from me when I took Bailey outside.
On a happier note, a friend of mine came up with a cool idea for my graduation present. It was probably pretty time consuming, but she was out of work for a medical reason when she came up with it. I wish I had taken a picture before I started taking things out of it, but you get the idea.
That is tissue paper with mini-bottles of liquor stuffed inside it. Genius, I thought! (For those of you who live in free-pour states, laws down here required that bars use mini-bottles until recently so most of the liquor stores carry them. Yeah, we weren't going to get as drunk on mini-bottles, you Bible thumpers. Sure!) Anyway, I thought it was a great gift to help celebrate my accomplishment. It doesn't take much to amuse me, can ya tell?
Finally, for the ladies... Did you see this picture of the New Kids on the Block with Kathy Griffin?
I could really care less about the rest of them, but I swear Donnie Wahlberg gets better looking with age. I'm sorry, but the boy is HAWT. God Bless America! :) Loving that show Blue Bloods by the way, if you haven't checked it out.
Oh, and let me know what you think of the new look. I needed to change it up a bit. Hope you like the new digs.
Hope you all have a great weekend! I'll have a drink for each of you from my basket.

Skip in my step on a Monday?
For those of you who know me even just a bit, you know I am NOT a morning person. And Mondays are the worst! I don't usually sleep very well as I tend to wake up at different points during the night. When I dream, I usually have some really strange dreams. For instance, a couple of weeks ago, I had a dream that Sister #1 was having a baby as a surrogate for someone else. Don't ask me why the hell I dreamed that, especially since she's *cough* a little out of the age range for birthin'. That dream was tame considering some of the bizarre things I have dreamed about recently. I mean, one night I dreamed Reggie Jackson (famous baseball player for those who don't know) stole my Jeep. What the... ?? Don't ask me where these things come from.
Do you ever have a dream that's so good that when you wake up you're kinda pissed that it was just a dream? I had one of those last night, and OMG did I want to throw my alarm clock when it went off. Some of you may recognize this guy...
He's been on commercials, various TV shows, and he used to be on As the World Turns playing Mike Kasnoff. I happened to see him on a commercial yesterday (Breathe Right strips), so I guess that's why his image was planted in my head. On the show (ATWT), he was the sexy construction worker who was a romantic type and knew how to TALK to and treat a woman. I know you guys are saying that he had to be fiction if that were true, but Mark Collier played him well. I always hoped his career would take off after leaving the show, but I haven't really seen him in much.
Anyway, in my dream, we had this majorly hot, romantic time together (and I'm not talking about sex, although that too!) where he hinted at asking me to marry him. Now if you know me, you know I'm not one to be pining away to get married. In fact, I've been single so long that half the time I forget I was ever married. It was a LONG time ago. (Okay, scrub picture of ex-hubby off my brain now and get back to Mark!)
So pressing on... I know I said it wasn't about the sex, and it wasn't. I'm sure most of you know what I'm talking about. It's like one of those "intimate" moments where touching each other's fingertips can be erotic. Ya know what I'm talking about? Okay, maybe I'm not describing it well, but it was HOT! HOT, I tell you! So of course, I went to tell a friend of mine that I thought he was going to propose and we were all excited about it. Then my damn alarm went off... After I was done throwing it across the room beating the thing senseless hitting the snooze button, I'll admit I had a smile on my face. *sigh* I was none too happy about missing the rest of the dream, but it was refreshing to have a good dream and not a strange dream.

Notice, I don't consider it strange to have a dream about an actor who I'll never get my hands on. Ha! But then, I guess it's strange I'd be so excited about getting married with the way my life has been in the romance department. But who the hell would tell him no?

It sure as hell wouldn't be me! Now, though I hate Mondays, I'll admit I had a little bit of a skip in my step when I came to work this morning. Yeah, it was THAT good of a dream. I think I'm going to have to figure out exactly what I did last night before bed to hope I can continue the dream. Fat chance, I know.
Have a great week, everyone! At least I started the week off right for the ladies, and the guys have a target to throw wise cracks at.

Half-Assed like you've never seen it before!
There have been a lot of posts lately about boobs, or so it seems. I thought I would point out something that has always cracked me up for my Half-Assed post this weekend, that I hope will entertain both the guys and the girls around these parts.
Now I know all of you aren't country music fans, and some might think this is a very hick song. Personally, the video cracks me up more than anything. My niece hates it because she says it objectifies women. I think it shows how stupid boys are and how easily they are stunned speechless and can no longer function because their lower head takes over. If you watch the video, HE isn't doing anything except losing his mind and being sexy as hell. The women are the ones rubbing all over him. I would do the same damn thing if I could get close to that body. I'm sorry, but he just oozes sex appeal and is ALL man in all of his 6'6" glory. Once you see the video, you'll know why calling this a Half-Assed post is a bit funny.
If you know anything about Trace Adkins (and if you don't, let me educate you), he is just a big nut. So I hope you enjoy this in the spirit I think the song and video were intended...
If this offends you, then feel free to press on in your Reader and I hope you enjoy your weekend. I've never been known for pleasing everyone.

Some house cleaning.. the fun kind!
I have been forgetting to do some things for a while now, so I figured I'd use today to take care of them.
First of all, I don't think I ever formally thanked Mynx over at Dribble.. I won a hot firemen calendar from her a couple months ago that I have been trying not to drool too badly on in this wonderful year of 2011. Just so you know I really got the calendar from my friend Down Under, I'd like you to meet Shane.
Doesn't he make you want to get stuck in a car just so he'll come cut you out of it? Well, I do. I'm willing to work for my eye candy! As long as he does his job with his shirt off like in this picture.
Holy crap! I'd probably need mouth to mouth after he cut me out. No, I would DEFINITELY need mouth to mouth after he cut me out.
I put the calendar beside the fridge. What better incentive than to see hot guys looking at you when you go for the fridge, huh? I'm pretty smart that way.
Okay, I'm pulling it together now.. I think. Isn't he purrrrty? Thanks, Mynx!
My next house cleaning chore is to thank Megan Crane (the author) and especially my blogging and Twitter girlfriend Canadian Blogger Girl. She did an interview with Megan a while back on her blog, and I won an autographed copy of one of her books. It came in the mail this week so I thought I'd share it.
And for those who wanted to see the personalization which I absolutely loved about it...
I thought it was pretty damn cool. Thanks, CBG and Megan (not that Megan will probably ever see this)! I will cherish it forever, and I'm sure I'll be singing her praises once I read it.
Finally Vicki at Glitter Frog thought I was special enough to get this little gem.
It came with some instructions I'm sure, but it's Saturday dammit! I am tired and I have homework to do, unfortunately. So I'm sorry if I'm being a slacker on this one. I REALLY love it though, Vicki! Thanks so much, and you all should go check her out. Go on!... Wait!... Comment here first, 'cuz I'm a comment whore.

Miss Ma'am - Half-Assed Weekend post
I haven't done one in a while, so I'm going to do one of Simple Dude's Half-Assed Weekend Posts. Feel free to go steal his button and do the same.
I went to the store the other day, and this guy who was probably my age or older tried to go around me and said, "Excuse me, Miss." I smiled and moved to let him by me. I looked at the women behind the registers, and this is the conversation that took place.
Me (smiling real big): Well, that made me feel good.
Them: What did?
Me: He just said, "Excuse me, Miss." Not excuse me, Ma'am.
Them: Who?
Me: That guy who just asked you that question. You know, the one who just walked away?
Them: Yes, Ma'am.
I laughed and looked at them waiting for them to catch what they had just said. They didn't get it.
Me: He just made me feel good by calling me Miss and then you go and call me Ma'am again.
They finally caught on and both of them laughed. Of course, we talked about how much southerners are raised to say Ma'am and Sir from the time they are little so it's just second nature. The "Miss" just made me feel so much younger. And they, of course, thanked me with an added "Ma'am" as I was leaving. *sigh* Wait, what? Okay, now they are just messing with me, right?
It took me a long time to get used to the Ma'am and Sir thing down here, being raised by two Yankees. Before moving here, Sir and Ma'am were things I only heard in reference to officers in the military. I know it's a respect thing, but it makes me feel old when it's aimed at me. One of my sisters just truly HATES the whole thing. But you have to love how (for the most part) they are about manners in the south. Like Miranda Lambert says, we can pretty much compliment you and cut you down by saying, "Bless your heart!"
I will say I absolutely love that most men down here are gentlemen and will give up a seat and open a door for any woman, no matter her shape, size, ethnic background, or class. It's refreshing to know chivalry isn't dead. The south gets a lot of knocks, but not having manners is NOT usually one of them.
Feel free to go read my post the other day about whether or not I am truly a Southerner or a Yankee.

Spartacus is back!
If you didn't watch Spartacus: Blood and Sand last year, you need to. Talk about an intense drama series! It was on Starz, and I watched it on Netflix. Personally, I think there's a lot for both women and men to enjoy the show, and every episode left me wanting more.
When the star, Andy Whitfield, went in for a physical to start filming the second season, they discovered he had non-Hodgkins lymphoma. He fought the cancer aggressively, and they decided to start filming a prequel they are calling Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. This short season will show the rise of the House of Batiatus before Spartacus came along. It starts tonight! And it looks like we'll be able to see it on Netflix tomorrow. I am so excited!
However, I am sorry to say that it looks like his cancer came back in September, so Andy will not be filming any time soon. It's a shame because he was working hard to get in shape and train for the show when it showed back up. I sincerely wish him and his family all of the best, whether he can come back to the show or not.
After just Googling it, it looks like the producers decided to replace him 3 days ago, and Andy approved of the replacement. It's Liam McIntyre, who I've never heard of, but they said he used to be on Pacific.
Most of the other pictures I found weren't as flattering as that one, but I hope this joker bulked up like they say he is. He has some big shoes to fill... er, loincloths... er, armor to fill because Andy was hot, Hot, HOT! It says that Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller were considered, so I hope they didn't make a mistake.
I almost think Wentworth would have been too "pretty" for the part of a Gladiator, but he was pretty intense on Prison Break. Dominic however... *sigh* ... I wouldn't even need to watch him as much as hear that sexy voice. (Wiping my chin and trying to get it together here.) Okay, who am I fooling, he's not hard on the eyes at ALL! I think they wanted someone a little less known though to take over the role, and I can understand that.

Which brings up something I was meaning to post about when I found out Spartacus was coming back tonight. What is it about men/women that attracts you? As far as body parts go, I love a nice chest. Muscular arms are a plus, too. But honestly, a beautiful smile is a must and if it is surrounded by dimples all the more better!

My sister picks on me all the time because sometimes I'll say someone is hot that she doesn't understand. Normally, it's a voice that will tip the scales for me. Dominic has one of those voices, deep and powerful. But some you might not have thought about before are....
Max Martini is that handsome fellow to the right, and he used to be on the TV show The Unit. Even his name is yummy. My sister never understood why I found him sexy until she started watching the show with me. Now she gets it. He just has this gravelly, deep voice that can make my ovaries stand up and applaud!

I just watched the movie The Losers over the weekend. I don't think I had even seen it advertised, but it was one of my Netflix suggestions, so I watched it. Enter Jeffrey Dean Morgan into my life, and bring your booming voice with you! It looks like he has a bunch of movies coming out soon, so you might see him more. Unfortunately, he played a quiet-type in the movie I just saw, so I didn't get to hear nearly enough of him. Oh, and he has perfect pearly whites and dimples.
Okay, so I'll quit boring you for now with who makes me drool. Tell me what kinds of things you are attracted to in a person. And yes, this is your chance to be completely shallow! So don't be giving me cheesy things. I'm sure I'll get accused of being horny again, but I couldn't help myself when I realized Spartacus was premiering.
Oh, and don't forget to tell me how you feel about Spartacus if you watch it. If you don't watch, you are missing out!
UPDATE: I just hit 50 followers today, so you all rock! I hope you all decide to stick around because I am thrilled to have you here. More funny Mom stories and things to come.

My dentist is hot!
Today I had the horrible job of going to see my dentist. Now normally, I would hate this almost as much as going to the gynecologist, but I had to change dentists about 2 years ago to a new guy because my dentist retired. Now it's not so bad, because my dentist is HOT!
I don't mean hot like I'd slap your momma to get some of that like this guy ...
I don't mean hot like I'd slap your momma to get some of that like this guy ...
I'd make Jason Statham take his shirt off, too!
But he's hot anyway. I kept trying to figure out the whole time I was there today how I could click a picture of him, but I couldn't come up with a good enough story to justify it. Everything I thought of made me sound like a stalker, and I've already been accused of that elsewhere. *Ahem!*
He has the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen, and with the hint of gray at his temples, it just makes them shine all the more. He was in a chatty mood today, and it didn't hurt my feelings one bit as I got to sit there and practically drool on him. Good thing he couldn't read my mind. And I had an excuse for the drooling thing at a dentist's office. Right? (By the way, look up "drooling woman" on Google images and check out the crazy shit that will come up. What the...?)
As I was walking up, I did notice something that amused me though.
It's one thing to have the step painted yellow... and the banister... but did we really need the sign, too? There's one on the other side also! Obviously someone has tripped over this tremendously high and inconspicuous step before enough times that it prompted them to have to take all 3 measures (I'm hoping only one at a time) to make it more visible. Stupid people really amuse me sometimes.
See, I told you I could write a post that didn't include animals! ... Oops! Dammit!

Taurusisms (New word.. Do you like it?)
You know it's freaking cold outside when it takes longer to defrost your car than it does to actually drive to work. Now granted, I only live 6 minutes from work, but still. It's far enough that I can still get road rage at the idiots who don't know how to drive. Although I must say I've gotten better about it since moving to a small town. You are much more likely to run into that person again REAL soon.
Bailey doesn't cuddle much when she's going to sleep, but why is it that when she decides to sleep on my foot she manages to lay on just one toe? I love her to pieces, but she is no spring chicken and that hurts after a while.

Has nothing to do with the conversation, but I thought it was cute!
Why does Sons of Anarchy only come on for part of the damn year? I LOVE that show! I don't think there is one episode where I didn't say, "Oh. My. God." Did you see the finale? I almost didn't want to watch it because I thought it would make it feel too final, but I had to see what happened. If you want to talk about it, email me so we don't spoil it for others. Incidentally, doesn't Ron Perlman have a face only a mother could love? I swear he looked better as the Beast. (For those who are too young to know what I'm talking about, bite me! :)
And just to get that image out of your head, I would do Jax in a skinny minute!
Give me a minute. Hmmmm... Okay, I'll try to stop slobbering on the screen now.
