I'm thankful for a short work week!

So is everyone ready for Thanksgiving? I think I'm ready to spend some relaxing time with my family on that day at least. It seems like when I've been home recently (which is about 45 minutes away) we've had so much going on that we are always busy. Granted, we'll be watching football, but our Steelers aren't playing that day, so I won't really care who wins too much.

Of course, that night will probably be game night for all of the clan, too. My family is addicted to Skip-Bo lately. Funny how a $5 card game I bought at Wal-Mart before our last trip to Pittsburgh would end up being a game every household needed. We have fun playing lots of games though. Are we the only ones who still do that? My friends always fuss at me because I do more with my family than anyone else when I'm off, but my family is a trip! At least I know there is never a dull moment with them.
I know I will happily take a 3-day work week for Thanksgiving, even though my mother will have me up at the crack of "OMG what time is it?" to go shopping on Friday. I'm sure I'll have some crazy photos and/or stories to tell after that experience. I truly hate shopping, so I try to get as much bought on that day as I can every year. You get great deals, and I know Mom is going to have me there with her anyway. I usually make a list after that to see who else I need to buy for, and those gifts either get bought on the internet or during one more mass shopping day.

I swear they start putting things out for Christmas earlier every year though. This year I saw that stuff out before I saw Halloween stuff! What the ...? That is just crazy. Now if someone would just come clean my house for me so I can decorate this weekend, I'd love you whole bunches!

Yeah, my mom is trying to talk me into going Black Friday shopping too. Not gonna happen. My happy ass is sleeping in :)

I only have to work 3 days this week, too! So excited!

I think I've only gotten out of it once. My grumpy ass will be cussing you as I'm up fighting the crowds. Just to give you a happy thought as you arise that day...

Honestly, we do usually get some really good deals so I spend much less for my huge family.

Sounds like a fun family. Mine is very distant and I won't be going to CT this year for Thanksgiving. Miss my grandbabies soooo bad. But it is what it is. I love playing games and nobody else does. Bruce hates them unless its an xbox game (lol).

Enjoy your holiday no matter what you have to shop for at 3:00 in the morning...hahaha

Love the picture btw...so adorable.

Barb, my nieces and nephews like playing video games too, but they pretty much know when we are all together we are playing board or card games. Although last Christmas we played Wii because it was a very Wii Christmas for everyone. LOL. Sorry you won't be able to see your family. I couldn't imagine the holidays without mine... Crazy brood that we are.

Thanks for following me, btw! I'm so tickled you are here!

We used to play a lot of board and card games. I even got involved with the kids video games for a bit. These days the games they play are too complicated and gory for me but sometimes the youngest will drag me off for a "game of Life"

@ Mynx... I don't play the gory ones, but I like a lot of the Wii games. At least many of them that I've seen.

@bruce... I hate to shop on Christmas Eve more than any other time. But Mom loves to be in the crowds so she'll drag me out for stocking stuffers that day.

You Americans are so lucky to have a Black Friday. We only have Expensive Every Day shopping.
Love the pic of the kitty with his arm around the dog.

Yes, Sandra.. I guess we are lucky in that way. I guess I never thought about how other countries do it, but surely you can catch some of those Black Friday deals online. A lot of people do that, even in my family.

Thanks about the photo. I thought it was too cute not to use when I saw it.
