NFL commissioner is a douche!

For my followers who are not NFL fans, please feel free to skip this one. If you are a fan of a team I may slam during this post, I am not intentionally lashing out at you. Well, I'm sure I mean what I say in regards to your team, but you get the picture. Anyway, I simply must vent about this idiot who calls himself the NFL commissioner.
"I am an idiot. Maybe I should suspend myself since I can't seem to be consistent with anyone else."

Am I the only one who has noticed that he seems to really hate the Pittsburgh Steelers? Where the hell did this "jagoff" (as they would say in the 'Burgh) come from that he seems to just have it out for my boys? I've read his bio, and I don't really see anything that stands out. So what the hell is his problem? Oh, that's right! Look who was appointed his "special advisor" last year.
"Hey, Coach Madden! Glad you came with the Commish. I mean, you have no bias at all against my team, and you're over that whole Immaculate Reception thing right?"

Let's recap some things he's done. First he suspends Ben Roethlisberger who was never arrested for anything! Let me repeat, he was NEVER CHARGED WITH ANYTHING! Now I know he was guilty of bad judgement, but I honestly think the second accusation only came about because of the first one. And the first accusation didn't come until a year and another Super Bowl win later! Hmmmm, gold digger much? There was never enough evidence in either case to charge him with anything criminal. As much as Ben loved his mom and still loves his step-mom and sister, I just don't see him as the type to prey on women. If he really had a problem with that, don't you think he would have attacked someone in Pittsburgh by now? Funny how the accusations only happen when he is out of the state.

So Goodell thinks Ben needs to be made an example of. Let's suspend the 2-time winning Super Bowl QB for SIX games. What the...?? Yes, initially it was six games, but it got reduced to four because Ben agreed to jump through hoops for Goodell and get counseling.
"We screwed those damn Steelers good this time, didn't we, John? What can we do next?"

Tell me you are going to possibly change the course of an NFL team's season just on the word of some girls the commissioner didn't even speak to and when no charges were brought. In that case, let me run to New England and accuse Tom Brady of raping me. Do you think we would be in this boat if it had been him? Nope! Because the Patriots can be on 'roids, cheat, and violate any number of NFL policies and they never get SHIT done to them.

As most people know, Goodell has been all over James Harrison this season about hits and fining him left and right. It got so bad that at one point Harrison contemplated retirement, and Troy Polamalu even spoke up to say Goodell was abusing his power. It takes a lot for Troy to speak out about anything. The NFL uses highlight reels that show big hits, but Harrison is supposed to take it easy or risk suspensions next time. Do whatnow?

Flash forward to this week when Richard Seymour (former Patriot and current Raider) punches Ben and knocks him on his ass after the whistle has blown and we have scored a touchdown. Personally, I wish one of our linemen who had been standing there had laid him out. But okay... The ref takes care of it and Seymour is thrown out of the game. Surely Goodell can't ignore this one right? Wrong! Let's give him a $25,000 fine and no suspension. Great! Sounds like a plan. What the...?? Are you kidding me with this?

Seriously, whatever you feel about Ben, don't you think there would have been a suspension if it had been Brady or Peyton? Or what if Harrison had done the same thing? This is getting more than ridiculous. I even saw a Raider fan say that Harrison's roughing the passer penalty that negated a defensive touchdown was stupid because it wasn't a malicious hit, and that Seymour deserved more than he got. When will we be able to stop the madness here, folks? I think he would get off of my team's ass if he only had to face this.

Krissy-

i hear ya...he is a douchybag...and although i hate all nfl teams i hate the lions least..(and as a lions fan you do have to hate them, cuz they break your heart and lose all the time) you have to really hate the commish...he is only worried about the dollars...and his publicity...

making a statment in this case was ridonkulous...

however as far as commishes go gary buttman in the nhl is the worst... hockey is my fav sport, and i love me some REDWINGS...and hence i kinda hate the pens...

well actually i do not hate the pens but i hate cindy crysby...he is the tom brady of the nhl...and buttman loves him some cindy...

during the 2009 SCF...when the pens got shellacked in game five on home ice the camera pans to buttman...the look on his face as his boytoy cindy was only one game away from losing the second straight SCF to the WINGS says it all...

not surprisingly, the pens come back and win the cup and buttman is like slobbering all over the punk, who neglectd to shake hands after the game...

while i respect cindy crysby's talent, i hate his attitiutde...

BTW...great homer post!!!and i am a huge HOMER, so i totally get and respect you opinion!!!

@Bruce.. Well, I am a Penguins fan, so I hear it all the time about Sidney from Red Wings and Flyers fans. I guess we can just agree to disagree on that point, since I'm sure you know I don't see him in the same light. Just as I'm sure we wouldn't agree on many Wings players. Thanks for the props on my post though!

@Barb.. Thanks for taking the time to read it and giving my your thumbs up! I have never gotten into basketball much, but living in ACC and SEC country there are a lot of fans around here. I mainly only watch when my Gamecocks are in the mix since I went to school there along with many in my family.

i kinda wish my friends were not all homers like me, cuz the few that follow other teams make the rivalry really humm... it is more fun watching a game with a couple of rival fans...as long as they do not get all douchy...or stupid drunk...

i kinda figured you would be a Pens fan...and that is very cool...we can agree to disagree...

i am very glad hockey did not leave Pittsburgh that would be a shame...and BTW i hate the flyers more than crosby and the pens... but rock on!!!

Bruce... I'm glad we can agree to disagree about Sid and that we can talk hockey in the future. :)

Yes, it is AWESOME that hockey didn't leave the Burgh, and so many people don't realize how close we came to that happening. I'm glad you hate the Flyers, too! They are nothing but a bunch of thugs. I always joke with a Flyers friend of mine that we take goons and make them hockey players while the Flyers take hockey players and make them goons!

A FUCKING MEN.

I can understand the thing with Ben being suspended because of the personal conduct policy. But the hits that Harrison has been fined for is bullshit. Troy spoke out against it. I read that article and printed out and hung it up in my office for the steelers haters in my office to read.

And the hits that Ben and others took in the Ravens games should have been ejections and fines. Ok the Ravens players did get fined, but that is besides the point.

Read my post about the hitting in football being taken out of the game.

Oilfield, I knew you and I would bond over this and feel free to email me at talktaurus@gmail.com.

Honestly, I do NOT understand Ben being made an example of when he was never even charged with anything! But this whole Harrison thing pisses me off! And the Ravens getting fined, oh please! They intentionally went after Heath b/c of Heap going down and no one even touched Heap! They are dirty, and I wish everyone had to play them twice a year like we do.

By the way, my biggest argument is that if those hits that always get made on Ben were made on Brady or Peyton, things would be much different. And you know I'm right.

Well with players and the personal conduct policy if you do drugs (coke, pot, etc) and are never charged you can still be suspended. Remember what happened to Ricky Williams? He smoked pot and got thrown out for a year.

And I so agree that if the hits Ben takes were made on Brady or Peyton the players who hit them would be gone from the NFL.
